Care Ring Executive Director Don Jonas stepping down, interim ED begins Oct. 19th
Care Ring’s executive director, Don Jonas, is stepping down from his position with Care Ring after more than eight years in his leadership role. During his tenure with Care Ring, Don has directed efforts to expand Care Ring’s health care access programs for people with limited resources. He has helped position Care Ring as a leading voice and advocate for creating a better system of care for all. Don is taking on a new role with Atrium Health where he will lead efforts to address many of the social drivers of health, including the lack of affordable housing, food insecurity, and other non-medical needs that impact health and wellness in profound ways. READ DON'S FAREWELL BLOG POST. With Don’s upcoming departure, Care Ring’s board of directors has engaged LevRidge Resources, a Charlotte-based firm with extensive experience providing interim nonprofit leadership services for nonprofit agencies in the Charlotte market. Reed Cochran with LevRidge will be stepping in as Care Ring’s interim executive director beginning Monday, October 19th.
Reed brings extensive leadership experiences in the nonprofit sector. She has a deep understanding and appreciation for the critical role an interim executive director plays in allowing Care Ring to continue to advance our strategic plan and deliver our health and wellness programs during this time of transition. Care Ring’s board will soon appoint a formal search committee to identify Care Ring’s next permanent executive director.
“Care Ring is well-positioned to continue to grow our impact across the Charlotte region,” says Mark Markiewicz, chair of Care Ring’s board of directors. “From expanding access to care, providing more families access to our proven poverty-fighting Nurse-Family Partnership program, and continuing to grow our work with neighborhood leaders across the region to prepare for major changes in health care, Care Ring’s work in the community has perhaps never been more important during these challenging times. We wish Don well as he transitions from his leadership role at Care Ring, and we welcome Reed Cochran as our interim executive director. We look forward to continuing our more than 65-year history of helping individuals with limited resources establish and maintain good health.”
